Woah, that ought to be an OLD bug. I fixed it in the CVS.
Did anybody ever try using mSQL under PHP 4.0? :)

PgSQL support builds and works fine, nothing weird with pg_close(). MySQL support builds fine with '--with-mysql'. MySQL users - you can play around with mysql_close() as well, it wasn't working until now. Seems to be fine. ...
