IIS >=4 (and PWS>=4 on NT workstation) use a thing called the IIS metabase
to store the configuration information.
For the Windows PHP installer, I wrote a visual basic program to scan the
metabase for existing script map nodes, prompt the user for which nodes to
add php mapping to, and then adding the script mappings to the selected
nodes.
It was my first (and hopefully last!) visual basic program, so I won't get
any awards for good coding!
I've posted the source code and /visual basic workspace files at
www.dialsolutions.com/phil/php/iisconfig.zip
Feel free to use and modify it. If you come up with a useful generic tool,
feel free to offer it back to the PHP community!
Cheers
