I discovered that I didn't use the installer, which is why none of those items
happened. (I used the zip, php-4.0.3pl1-Win32.zip)
The php.ini file I used was php.ini-dist. Sorry about that; my bad. In my own
defense, it was my first windows install of php. :)
The only change then that I might suggest would be changing the session.save_path
to something other than /tmp for win32 systems in the default php.ini*
files. Maybe "c:/temp"?
I'll have to give the installer a try sometime. :) I used the zip because I
wanted support for ISAPI, which I found too unstable for my needs. (yes, I did
read the ugly disclaimer, and yes it crashed my iis service quite a few times
before I gave up)
