is it possible to do the equivalent of that (this code below doesn't work) :
$tab["NAME"] = "John";
$str = "hi %%NAME%% how are you";
$str = eregi_replace("%%([[:alnum:]]*)%%",$tab["\\1"],$str);
the new $str would then be "hi John how are you";
it is the $tab["\\1"] that
