Noone has been able to figure that out..
If you use procmail, this rule will get rid of dups:
:0 Wh: $MAILDIR/.msgid.lock
| formail -D 8192 $MAILDIR/.msgid.cache
(MAILDIR needs to be set to a valid directory, of course.)
