Please test this beast and report everything you find!
You have plenty of time to do so. I don't plan to go any
further before the end of the next week (Dec 9).
basic tests passed, but there are three remaining issues I'll suppose not work (untested yet)
a) $this in constructor (Andi is on it)
b) OO bug bug #7515 (nobody (AFAIK) is on it)
c) serialize() looses objects (awaiting response from stas)
(b)+(c) are important, (a) would be fine if Andi already did something on it
