this has been identified as a bug in apache. it has it's definition
typedef off_t regoff_t
regoff_t regcomp(...)
but off_t changes it's size with large file support. And php, though compiled
to use glibc 2.2 regcomp, it binds to the apache one, because regcomp in glibc
is weak.
