The 404 comes from your webserver, not your php. Change the script so it just displays $goto, you
might be surprised what it contains (perhaps two of "http://"?)

[2000-10-20 16:57:36] webmaster@jwdx.com
$url = getenv("REQUEST_URI");
$dest is taken from a mysql database
$goto = "http://" . "$dest" . "$url";
<html><head>
</head>
<frameset rows="100%,*" frameborder="no" border=0><frame
name="webmapper" src="<? echo("$goto"); ?>"
noresize></frameset>
</html>
This should be enough to get the idea across. Basically it is a redirection script. I have 404
errors pointed to this file, so when a person goes to a domain pointed to me that has a REQUEST_URI,
that get added to the end of $dest so it takes them to that file in whatever directory they are
pointing to. When i use headers("Location: $dest" . "$url"); it works fine. In
Netscape, it works fine, but in IE it displays a 404 error. When I changed back to 4.0.1pl2, it
worked fine. What could have changed to make this happen? Is there anything I can do to prevent
this problem?
