execution of external programs

Hi ! how can i make this to work... couse PHP program stops responding, waiting something from notepad.exe Manual says: Note also that if you start a program using this function and want to leave it running in the background, you have to make sure that the output of that program is redirected to a file or some other output stream or else PHP will hang until the execution of the program ends i am using win 95 & win 98... <html><title> exec </title><body> <?php exec("c:\\windows\\notepad.exe c:\\test.txt"); ?> o.k. </body></html> what i have to write in line with exec function Thanx in advance ;) Darko Nikolic
