Actually this (_delegate()) is neither hack nor slash. It is
a very simple extension of the object model which allows
to do some very interesting things to be done at PHP level
which otherwise would require access to the C layer. I think
of it as the minimal necessary modification at the language
level to allow for maximum power addition at the application
level. :-)
