PHP 4.0 Bug #8228: external module not compiled into php binary

From: gib@pganet.com Operating system: RedHat 6.2 PHP version: 4.0.3pl1 PHP Bug Type: Unknown/Other Function Bug description: external module not compiled into php binary I'm using php4.0.3pl1 I wanted to write my own ext modult to php, so I did this: tar xvfz php-4.0.3pl1.tar.gz cd php-4.0.3pl1 cd ext ./ext_skel --extname=gibs --xml --assign-params (I have also tried w/o --xml and --assign-params cd .. ./buildconf vim ext/gibs/config.m4 --config.m4-- PHP_ARG_ENABLE(gibs, whether to enable gibs support, dnl Make sure that the comment is aligned: [ --enable-gibs Enable gibs support]) if test "$PHP_GIBS" != "no"; then dnl If you will not be testing anything external, like existence of dnl headers, libraries or functions in them, just uncomment the dnl following line and you are ready to go. dnl Write more examples of tests here... PHP_EXTENSION(gibs, $ext_shared) fi ------------- ./configure --enable-gibs --without-mysql --without-xml (also tried w/o --without-mysql and --without-xml) make ./php -f ext/gibs/gibs.php Module gibs is not compiled into PHP huh what is the problem? after many tries I have downloaded php-latest (php4-200012130345) I followed the previous steps, and after running ./php -f ext/gibs/gibs.php it resonded with: Congratulations, you have successfully modified ext/gibs/config.m4, module gibs is compiled into PHP Is php4pl1 buggy? can I use php4-200012130345 (it is stable enough?) or I should wait for php 4.0.4, or am I doing something wrong? regards, gib -- Edit Bug report at: http://bugs.php.net/?id=8228&edit=1
