Hi George, et al.
Thanks for everyone's attention to the odbc_exec and odbc_do problems when
connecting to SQLServer or Ingres.
We are in final QA for Openlink's 4.0 version of the Multi-Tier drivers.
As well as several performance enhancements and greater platform / database
support, we have resolved an issue that required using a combination of
odbc_prepare and odbc_execute (which call SQLPrepare and SQLExecute) in
place of either odbc_exec or odbc_do (which instead use SQLDirectExec), when
migrating from PHP3 to PHP4.
We've just completed verification that everything works fine with:
4.0.5-dev snaps of PHP
4.0 pre-release of Multi-Tier UDA
Linux glibc2.1 client
SQLServer 7 / 2000 and Ingres II running on various platforms.
If anyone need advance copies of our drivers due to this issue, please
contact me and I will have an account manager release a copy to you ASAP.
The 4.0 drivers are significantly faster and more functional (all components
multi-threaded, ODBC-to-JDBC bridge, full ODBC3.5 support, etc.) and will be
available for general release in a couple of weeks.
Best regards,
Andrew
