Have you tried with less than 50 ? Does it work then?
And I assume you did put different names for them?
ie. like this :
<input type="file" name="userfileX">
where X is number between 1-50 ?

When submitting a form (post / enctype multipart/fom-data),
with 50 file input tags,
i obtain this warning message :
Warning: File Upload Mime headers garbled ptr: [ in Unknown on line 0
any ideas ?
