My system is based on an AMD K6/350, running linux kernel 2.2.5 (I know, I know, that's ancient; and I need to upgrade it -- but somehow that doesn't sound like the source of the PHP compile problem). I don't recall doing any upgrades lately (although I did rebuild bintools yesterday when a post I found suggested that if they were munged I might see the problem I'm having; and I reinstalled glibc2.1 from my Caldera distribution just to be on the safe side -- neither worked). - Mark -----Original Message----- From: jani@sniper.igw.kolumbus.fi [mailto:jani@sniper.igw.kolumbus.fi]On Behalf Of Jani Taskinen Sent: Thursday, January 11, 2001 4:25 AM To: Mark Olbert Cc: php-dev@lists.php.net Subject: RE: [PHP-DEV] Compile Problem: Place for Help On Wed, 10 Jan 2001, Mark Olbert wrote: >>>/usr/bin/ld: .libs/libphp4.so: undefined versioned symbol name >>>__fp_query@@GLIBC_2.0 >>>/usr/bin/ld: failed to set dynamic section sizes: Bad value > >>Either your header files don't match the installed GLIBC version or >>libresolv.so.1 was compiled against a GLIBC version other than the >>installed one. > >1) I don't have libresolv.so.1 on my system; just libresolv.so.2. Actually, the libresolv.so.2 is a symlink to /lib/libresolv-2.1.3.so (at least on my system, RH 6.2) >2) My version of glibc is 2.1. Could that be a problem? I have the same. Have you done any upgrades recently? What is the system you have ? --Jani
