the problem is still existent, try this code it´s much better:
for ($i=1;$i<=100000;$i++) {
list($micro,$time)=explode(" ",microtime());
$add=$micro+$time;
print ($add<$last ? 'Last:'.$last.' -Current:'.$add.'<BR>'
: '');
$last=$add; }

i failed to reproduce this with php 4.0.2.
