Building PHP3 on NT: language-scanner.lex

I'm trying to get PHP to build from source on NT using MSVC++6 (my first ever Win32 compile other than my Hello World program, so this is exciting in a traffic accident sort of way) but I am running into the following message: Deleting intermediate files and output files for project 'php_custom_build - Win32 Debug'. Deleting intermediate files and output files for project 'php3 - Win32 Debug'. --------------------Configuration: php_custom_build - Win32 Debug-------------------- Performing Custom Build Step on ".\language-scanner.lex" The name specified is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Error executing c:\winnt\system32\cmd.exe. It is not clear to me (A) where I find whatever bits I need to make this work, and (B) how I tell MSVC++6 about them. Any clues?
