Funkiness in Zend Source ?

so im looking at the source to zend_list.c, trying to understand persistent lists. i check out zend_plist_delete which passes &EG(persistent_list) as the hash table parameter to zend_list_do_delete. in zend_do_delete, however, the hashtable is completely ignored and &EG(regular_list) is used instead. is this a WAD ? also, is there no zend_plist_addref ??
