The aspell extension is using the old build script functions.
But the pspell extension is the prefered extension to use anyways, as this one works with never
version of aspell/pspell.

This appears to be specific to aspell (all the other packages with the exception of the java
package) exit cleanly with the proper return code when they fail.

./configure --with-aspell=no
./configure --without-aspell
In both cases the compile fails. Since aspell is not a default module the above should be no
different than
./configure
which succeeds.
Looks like it is checking for the presence of the extension even though the extension is not
required:
checking for ASPELL support... configure: error: no
Checked on both redhat and debian with 4.0.5RC4.
