It seems that Uwe based his rewrite on my implementation of object support for PHP-GTK. But libxml lacks certain features that can help properly destruct objects, they will have to be emulated. I'm just waiting for a reply from libxml author on one issue, and then I can start fixing memory leaks. That may take care of the crash as well, although I haven't experienced the crash, just the memory leaks.
