Hi,
I am new to CVS so please bear my stupid questions. I downloaded the CVS
tree a few days ago following the directions on the website. Today I
tried to update my cvs tree by issuing the command as specified on the
http://cvs.php.net/ page.
This is what I am doing the error that I am getting:
[dev1.jpons]~/php-cvs> cvs -d :pserver:cvsread@cvs.php.net:/repository
login
(Logging in to cvsread@cvs.php.net)
CVS password:
[dev1.jpons]~/php-cvs> cvs -z3 update -d
cvs update: No CVSROOT specified! Please use the `-d' option
cvs [update aborted]: or set the CVSROOT environment variable.
What am I doing wrong? Ot seems I am using the -d option as the error
message suggests, I also tried all sorts of paths that I thought might
work as variations of the paths on the two example commands, but none
worked. I ended up doing a checkout and that seems to have updated my
files. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks,
-J
