We run PHP 3.0.6 in safe mode, which precludes us (apparently) from
including certain files. As per lines 115-119 of safe_mode.c, it checks
the uid of the current script against the uid of the script to be
included. This feature does not allow a sort of global include directory
when run under safe mode, since many scripts owned by different UIDs will
want to include certain other scripts.
Would it be viable/desirable to add a directive that would specify a
directory in which this check is omitted? For instance,
global_include_dir = "/usr/local/web/phplibs"
means that any script in /usr/local/web/phplibs (when included) would skip
the UID check. Is this capability already in PHP? (I realize we are a
couple of minor revisions behind.) If not, does this violate the
programming paradigm of PHP3?
Thanks for your thoughts!
