This feature was added in 4.0.5. I've removed the note that says that redirects are not
supported.

The manual to fopen/popen/readfile says:
"Does not handle HTTP redirects, so you must include trailing slashes on directories."
That's not true, it does (since which version?). See also bug id #8876 (feature request:
determine if redirected or not).
