You are quite right - doing it in PHP would be slower :)

Fast, that is the question.
If I made a function like I want (it's easy, except the dificult of ereg options) this function
will be very slow (read ALL directory, recurse dir with ereg and add in array, read too date and
size and sort the array. Buff!).
If YOU made this function, this can be very fast.
NOTE: They already exists in C (Envy)
