Status: Feedback
Bug Type: Network related
Operating System: Windows NT
PHP Version: 4.0.6
New Comment:
PHP already can handle UNC patsh (since 4.0.5 iirc), but I think it needs a name, and not an IP
Address. Can you check this?

I am trying to open a file on a remote machine on a windows NT network. (The server and the remote
machine are both on that NT network).
e.g. fopen("\\155.225.57.20\C$\temp\bg2.gif","r");
However I kept receiving an error message saying that this is an invalid argument, and then I read
on the php.faqts knowledgebase that "It is not currently possible to open windows shares with
PHP".
Can this be rectified for future php versions?
