Someone had similar problems and said they were fixed
in PHP 4.0.6RC3:
http://www.php.net/~andi/php-4.0.6RC3.tar.gz
(if above link doesn't work, try with RC4)

No, magic quotes are turned off, it's not that simple.

Take a look at magic quotes and make sure you have it set to on or off. The manual has information
about magic quotes in it, I would imagine this is whats causing your problems.

Hi,
sometimes strings from a DB or a textfile are added with backslashes all over one page. if you
reload the page it could be that it is normal.
I don't use session_start() only include (like in the solution of problem #2293)
What can I do?
