As I stated in the bug report. I am using Solaris 2.5.1
I tried compiling again using:
PHP 3.0.8
egcs-2.91.66
expat 1.0.2
And I find the same problem with parsing tags w/ attributes. If I use the
script "ex3.php3" and the associated file "xmltest.xml" (both attached), the
output will read:
<CHAPTER>

Title

<PARA>
<INFORMALTABLE>
XML error: not well-formed at line 3
If I use a file w/o attibutes, it works OK, execpt for executing the php
command:
<CHAPTER>

Title

<PARA>
<INFORMALTABLE>
<TGROUP>

<ROW>
a1

b1

c1
</ROW>
<ROW>
a2

c2
</ROW>
<ROW>
a3

b3

c3
</ROW>

</TGROUP>
</INFORMALTABLE>
</PARA>

Unfortunately we cannot give access to the machine (it is behind a firewall).
More misc info:
(1) to configure I used:
setenv CPPFLAGS -I/asd/metallo1/database/expat
setenv LDFLAGS -L/asd/metallo1/database/expat
./configure --prefix=/home/jesusmc/devel/php3 --with-gd=/asd/metallo1/database/gd1.3 --with-xml
--with-msql=/home/jesusmc/devel/msql --with-config-file-path=/homes/jesusmc/devel/php3
--enable-track-vars --enable-magic-quotes --with-apache=/home/jesusmc/so
urces/new-server/apache_1.3.6 --enable-debugger --with-mysql=/home/jesusmc/devel/mysql
--with-pgsql=/home/jesusmc/devel/pgsql
(2) and compiled apache with the configuration:
setenv CPPFLAGS -I/asd/metallo1/database/expat
setenv LDFLAGS -L/asd/metallo1/database/expat
./configure --prefix="/home/jesusmc/devel/apache/" --enable-module="rewrite"
--enable-module="info" --enable-module="status"
--enable-module="mime_magic" --with-layout=GNU --disable-module="userdir"
--enable-module="speling" --sysconfdir="/home/jesusmc/de
vel/apache/conf/" --activate-module=src/modules/php3/libphp3.a --verbose | tee
redox_apache_configuration.log
Have the xml extension the PHP ever been tested on Solaris 2.5.1 on Sparc machines? I think that
there is some setting missing somewhere, because reading the files in IE5.0 or using Jumbo
(a java XML browser) works OK.
