I think we have to. The current versions are very old.

I dont know if users uses php3.inn or the dl() function. Both has
advantages.
If you use dl() you can load the database libraries only in the scripts
where it is needed.
If you use php3.ini you dont have to bother but you might get an overhead as
we are running CGI for now !
