Greetings,
I am trying to make GNU gettext work with the current PHP source from CVS
on Solaris 2.8.
No matter what I have tried within PHP, gettext() fails to return the
translated string. When I run gettext(1) from the command line,
I get the right string.
I wrote a C version of my PHP test program and compiled it thus:
> gcc -o testgt testgt.c
It compiled but also refused to translate.
When I compiled it like this:
> gcc -lintl -o testgt testgt.c
It compiled and worked.
Running objdump against the object file compiled without -lintl shows that
the gettext functions are in libc. So it looks like PHP is being linked
against libc instead of libintl for the gettext() functions.
How can I force PHP to use libintl when compiling gettext support?
Thanks!
