And, BTW, if you named all of your input the same, like in your example:
<INPUT type=hidden name=user_ids value="123">
<INPUT type=hidden name=user_ids value="456">
<INPUT type=hidden name=user_ids value="789">
How would you access them in Javascript? You'd run into the same problems
