That would be correct. You can prove this to yourself by typing: date +%z
at your prompt. I bet you will see the same number. ie. -0700

to verify this for yourself. PDT is GMT-7

date('Z') is returning -25200 on my system (mountain), even though though the rest of the
system believes it is in the pacific time zone (rightfully so). /bin/date returns "Sun Sep 23
01:09:17 PDT 2001".
