RH 6.2: linux 2.4.10/glibc 2.1.3/zlib 1.1.3 apache 1.3.22/modssl 2.8.5/openssl 0.9.6b And I just realized I had been testing with the latest CVS which works fine, but when I installed 4.1.0RC1 and started apache and accessed a page with only <?php phpinfo(); ?> linux freezed.
I updated CVS. Last time I tested, my linux didn't freeze, but it freezed this time :( It keeps working for a while, but I left the PC for a while and it freezed. I couldn't login from remote host using telnet. I had to turn off power to reboot... This is the first freeze with this kernel...
So I think it's only a problem within the RC..
I still get the same result after CVS update... I cannot downgrade glibc to 2.1.x. I also may not able to upgrade to newer kernel, since newer kernel had problem with my NIC. (2.4.7, 2.4.10 had problem, I may be able to upgrade to 2.4.13.) Anyone using 2.4.4? I appreciated if you could test this? Anyway, I'll test again using apache 1.3.22/modssl 2.8.5. If I still have this problem, I'll ask to other users using my distribution to see if anyone has the same problem. Please be patient for reply. BTW, I also checked memory using memtest-86. It seems the PC does not have memory problem. -- Yasuo Ohgaki

Could you tell me your zlib version (and OS, glibc, if you are using Linux) -- Yasuo Ohgaki

The two remaining critical bugs are not a reason to not roll 4.1.0RC1 (one is windows build-specific, the other does not apply for the release branch). Unless anyone objects, I'll roll 4.1.0RC1 tonight. - Stig
While I'm playing with Bug #13806, many memory leaks are log at httpd shutdown. I tried to display phpinfo(), it just time out. If I shutdown httpd, many leaks are reported,. (If not, httpd work like as if there is busy wait) Could anyone confirm this problem? php.ini: php.ini-recommened. Only change I've made is enable ZLIB compression. If zlib compression is off, it seems working.
