Operating system: Linux 2.4.2
PHP version: 4.0.6
PHP Bug Type: Compile Failure
Bug description: Undefined Symbol: mysql_module_entry when compiling with mysql option specified
When trying to compile Apache 1.3.22 with the PHP library, the Apache
compilation fails with the following error:
Undefined symbol: mysql_module_entry
This occurs _only_ if you try to use the MySQL libraries by specifying:
--with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql
in the PHP configure script.
If you use --with-mysql without any arguments, Apache compiles properly.
There is a note on the MySQL mailing list about this:
http://lists.mysql.com/cgi-ez/ezmlm-cgi?1:mss:88933
The message claims that this is a PHP problem because MySQL does not define
this symbol.
System: Redhat 7.1 Linux 2.4.2
Compiler: GCC 2.96 (unfortunately)
