From: orion@bvt.com Operating system: Unixware 7.0.1 PHP version: 3.0.9 PHP Bug Type: Compile Failure Bug description: apache compile fails with undefined symbol: xmalloc Compiling apache 1.3.6 with php 3.0.9 fails as follows: cc -DUW=700 -DMOD_PERL -DUSE_PERL_SSI -I/usr/include -I/usr/ucbinclude -DUSE_HSREGEX ./apaci -o httpd buildmark.o modules.o modules/standard/libstandard.a modules/perl/libperl.a modules/php3/libphp3.a main/libmain.a ./os/unix/libos.a ap/libap.a regex/libregex.a -Lmodules/php3 -L../modules/php3 -L../../modules/php3 -lmodphp3 -lpcre -L/usr/local/lib/mysql -L/usr/local/lib/mysql -lmysqlclient -lm -lsocket -lnsl -lresolv -lsocket -lnsl -lcrypt -lgen -L/usr/ccs/lib -L/usr/ucblib -L/usr/local/lib -L/usr/gnu/lib /usr/gnu/lib/perl5/i386-svr4/5.00404/auto/DynaLoader/DynaLoader.a -L/usr/gnu/lib/perl5/i386-svr4/5.00404/CORE -lperl -lsocket -lnsl -ldbm -ldl -lld -lm -lc -lcrypt -lucb -lx Undefined first referenced symbol in file xmalloc modules/php3/libphp3.a(alloca.o) UX:ld: ERROR: httpd: fatal error: Symbol referencing errors. No output written to httpd I was able to compile okay with php 3.0.7. php configure line was: ./configure --with-mysql --with-apache=../apache_1.3.6 As near as I can tell, Unixware does not have "xmalloc" in any library. Removing alloca.o from the libmodphp3.a library allows apache to compile.
