Bug description: checking for png_info_init in -lpng... no

./configure aborts with this error:

checking for the location of libpng... yes
checking for png_info_init in -lpng... no
configure: error: libpng not found!

png.h says this:
/* Initialize the info structure (old interface
   - NOT DLL EXPORTED) */
extern void png_info_init PNGARG((png_infop info_ptr));

So, why is there a check for a function from the not exported old interface
which is obviously not public?

Probably there is a fix somewhere out there, I didn't found yet.

Ciao,

Gerrit
