I tinkered with the new site stuff a bit, and implemented the sites
page (http://new.php.net/res/sites/). It isn't very pretty, and
doesn't have a form for submissions. But all the content is
coming out of a database (and I imported everything from the
current sites page into the database).
I'm not sure why we would want to have the interface to editing
this be structured like the admin.php.net stuff. I think it would
be more convenient if the administration interface looked exactly
like this page, but with small icons next to each entry to allow
editing/deletion/approval, with those only being visible if the
user has a special cookie set (which may contain the username/password
for doing the authentication when actually making changes).
I guess the actual edit page could be like the current admin.php.net
stuff -- it's just the 'browsing' of the various categories that
would move onto the site itself.
Obviously that cookie wouldn't be honored when viewing one of the
static versions of the site (ie. anything other than the site which
gets used to generate the 'live' site that actually mirrored).
Am I making sense? I can take a whack at implementing what I'm
talking about if it will help.
