Michael, GD 1.5 works fine with PHP3, but doesn't currently offer major
improvements to GD 1.3 (because we haven't gotten around to updating PHP's
GD support in a while). I'm working on supporting the GD 1.5 new features
in PHP 3.0.12, and will probably start committing my changes to the
development tree early next week.
I'll keep you posted.
