yeah.. all header() does is add a header to the http response.. when you add "Location: " it tells the application to goto a new location. I do believe that you can configure you webserver to catch the location header and automatically redirect to the new site, but im not sure... are you trying to do someting like? if(validuser) { print "hello valid user"; } else { header("Location: http://myhost.com/baduser.php"); } if thats what you want to do.. then it should work... but there are much better ways of handling this.. - Brad --- Erik Price <pricee@hhbrown.com> wrote: > > I asked a question about this last week on php-general, but didn't get a > response, and was hoping that someone who knows the PHP engine at a > deeper level could help me: > > I am new to the concepts of HTTP, and how user agents communicate with > servers via this protocol.
