ok Thanks a lot. I was gonna repost my mail thinking it had been read over and not taken care of :)
The strange behavior of safe_mode anad the CHECKUID_ALLOW_ONLY_DIR is something i had also patched
before but didn't remember :)
So it's a double feature .. Pretty cool :)
I'll be happy not to have to patch this next time we upgrade our php version for our members :)
