Yes, it's quite possible. SRM (www.vl-srm.net) has the concept of a
'function library'
(http://www.vl-srm.net/doc/features.remote-functions.php) which is loaded
when the deamon is started. But there is one big problem with this
approach which makes it not much faster: you need some sort of
synchronisation between the thread that runs the function library and the
rest of your code.
