You're right. I 100% agree and take this thought back.

So, do you think we should start from version 8 and forwards without
caring about previous versions support? Well, I can't say that I disagree.
True, full functionality would be the best, but is really not as
relevant. probably we will consume 60% of our time to satisfy some 10%
of the users that will still stick to Ora7.
