I've finally figured out a way to add a register_apache_shutdown_function
and have it execute after the connection to the client has closed. This
will only be available to users of the Apache web server.
A patch will be forthcoming. This message is to gear up testers. The patch
will be against the latest PHP_4_3 code, though I don't expect it to be in
the first release of 4.3
