Hi guys, GD 1.6.2 has some new features: It includes John Ellson's GDTTF package (gdttf.c and gdcache.c, mainly) and the gdImageColorResolve function, both of which are already part of the PHP distribution. This represents a potential branching problem, as the code in gdttf.c of GD and of PHP have regrettably evolved independently. We need to make a decision about our short-term plan on this (Long term plan, in my view, would be to come up with a new imaging architecture). My opinions on the issue follow. - I think it makes sense to maintain GDTTF as a part of PHP, for the users with GIF-capable versions of GD. - It is desirable, though not imperative, that the GD and PHP versions of GDTTF stay somewhat in sync. - I'm getting sick of probing the GD lib for a gazillion functions and filling the GD support code with ifdefs. I'll check in the new gdImageColorResolve probes later today. Marko -- this is my sig. there are many like it, but this one is mine marko karppinen @ icon medialab finland, +358 40 541 3399
