From: jdbotwic@nortelnetworks.com Operating system: HP-UX 10.20 PHP version: 3.0.12 PHP Bug Type: Compile Failure Bug description: Link/Load failure with shared module link into Apache 1.3.6 I have had an extremely difficult time installing this software. There seem to be several bugs in the configure/make scripts. I'll submit a separate bug report for those. I've managed to hack my way through so far. However, this one has me totally stumped. When I compile Apache with a shared PHP module, it gets to the step where it is trying to link the PHP stuff together (I guess). Here's the actual linker command: ld -L/u01/home/oracle/dist/7.3.4.2/lib -b -E -Bdeferred +s -o libphp3.so mod_php3.so-o libmodphp3-so.a -L/u01/home/oracle/dist/7.3.4.2/lib -L/u01/home/oracle/dist/7.3.4.2/lib -lclntsh -l:libcma.sl -lcl -lm -l:libcl.a -lm and I get the following error: ld: Invalid loader fixup for symbol "$0000000D". make: *** [libphp3.so] Error 1 I have absolutely no idea where to even start debugging this problem. Can you help? What does that error message mean? Update: I provided the "-v" option to the linker statement below and found that there are about a zillion unsatisified symbols. Many are from libc, which doesn't seem to be being included. Others are from Apache's libmain.a, which also isn't included. As I said below, there seems to be a few bugs in the configuration script. Could this be another? How can I fix this? Thanks.
