Be my guest. I have no illusions that my C is the best possible, by far. But
I did duplicate the crash, and that change fixed it. Whatever the solution,
I'm positive that the underlying problem was that the old if statement
assumed that parts of subtype rfc822*, not just rfc822, were embedded
messages, and trying to parse them as such caused a segfault.

If I remember, that was in response to the same bug report, and it didn't
fix the problem.
