Since the online and downloadable versions of the documentation need some time to get updated, we would like to ask you to be a bit patient. Thank you for the report, and for helping us make our documentation better. Thanks for your input ... Note that, the function documentation still requires changing, I'm in the process of doing that ... when I find out what to change it too ... According to the documentation on @method set_magic_quotes_runtime() this function should not exist. In reality however: the function exists and executes without any exception, php error, notice or warning when the parameter is set to false. I think that this is good behaviour since a lot of php code does use this method to restore a previously saved state. But it should be properly documented. also on this page: http://www.php.net/manual/en/migration54.incompatible.php Thanks for your work! Test script: --------------- <?php var_dump(function_exists('set_magic_quotes_runtime')); set_magic_quotes_runtime(0); ini_set('magic_quotes_runtime', 0); echo 'done.'; Expected result: ---------------- bool(false); (EXCEPTION WILL BE THROWN) Actual result: -------------- bool(true) done. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Edit this bug report at https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=64792&edit=1
