Package: Documentation problem
Bug Type: Documentation Problem
Bug description:(bool)(new Mysqli(...)) is always TRUE !!
Description:
------------
---
From manual page: http://www.php.net/mysqli.construct
---
(bool)(new Mysqli(...)) is always TRUE.
So you can't use this value for judging.
You have to use mysqli_connect_errno().
Expected result:
----------------
<?php
$link = mysqli_connect('localhost', 'my_user', 'my_password',
'my_db');
if (mysqli_connect_errno()) {
die('Connect Error (' . mysqli_connect_errno() . ') '
. mysqli_connect_error());
}
echo 'Success... ' . mysqli_get_host_info($link) . "\n";
mysqli_close($link);
?>
Actual result:
--------------
<?php
$link = mysqli_connect('localhost', 'my_user', 'my_password',
'my_db');
if (!$link) {
die('Connect Error (' . mysqli_connect_errno() . ') '
. mysqli_connect_error());
}
echo 'Success... ' . mysqli_get_host_info($link) . "\n";
mysqli_close($link);
?>
