Edit report at https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=65712&edit=1 ID: 65712 Updated by: salathe@php.net Reported by: qriff at hotmail dot com Summary: inotify constants, missing values -Status: Re-Opened +Status: Closed Type: Documentation Problem Package: Documentation problem Operating System: Irrelevant PHP Version: Irrelevant -Assigned To: +Assigned To: salathe Block user comment: N Private report: N New Comment: It looks like all of the available constants are currently listed. Previous Comments: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2013-09-21 13:41:30] qriff at hotmail dot com You are really helping every coder to catch the right event... Unbelievable. They all need to reverse the constants to find the integer values and notice there are high-bit values returned for some of the same events (don't know why) that don't obviously match to the constants. Maybe you should be so quick to close this since either of us seem to miss the point. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2013-09-20 20:01:41] aharvey@php.net Sorry, missed the comment. Leaving open for the missing constants. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2013-09-20 20:01:12] aharvey@php.net We don't tend to list them unless there's a particular reason to do so — in this case, knowing which power of 2 IN_ACCESS is probably isn't useful for most developers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2013-09-19 13:52:25] qriff at hotmail dot com There are aparently some missing also http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/rml/inotify/headers/inotify.h ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2013-09-19 13:37:52] qriff at hotmail dot com Description: ------------ --- From manual page: http://www.php.net/inotify.constants --- Is missing inotify contants integer values: http://ulaptech.blogspot.fi/2012/01/php-pecl-inotify-masks-mapped.html Expected result: ---------------- Inotify constants usable with inotify_add_watch() and/or returned by inotify_read(): IN_ACCESS (integer) = 1 File was accessed (read) (*) IN_ONESHOT (integer) = 2147483648 Monitor pathname for one event, then remove from watch list. Actual result: -------------- Inotify constants usable with inotify_add_watch() and/or returned by inotify_read(): IN_ACCESS (integer) File was accessed (read) (*) IN_ONESHOT (integer) Monitor pathname for one event, then remove from watch list. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Edit this bug report at https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=65712&edit=1
