From: phpnet at revmaps dot no-ip dot org Operating system: linux PHP version: 5.6.4 Package: Documentation problem Bug Type: Documentation Problem Bug description:mail(): \r\n is for windows only Description: ------------ --- From manual page: http://www.php.net/function.mail --- manual says: > Each line should be separated with a CRLF (\r\n). Lines should not be larger > than 70 characters. which is completly wrong. \r\n is not applicable to posix platforms. on linux it should be \n else the generated SMTP message gets \r doubled 70 character limit is for encoded MIME content only. RFC5322 allows 998 cahacters per line in non-MIME content but reccomends 78 as the limit. -- Edit bug report at https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=68829&edit=1 -- Try a snapshot (PHP 5.4): https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68829&r=trysnapshot54 Try a snapshot (PHP 5.5): https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68829&r=trysnapshot55 Try a snapshot (trunk): https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68829&r=trysnapshottrunk Fixed in SVN: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68829&r=fixed Fixed in release: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68829&r=alreadyfixed Need backtrace: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68829&r=needtrace Need Reproduce Script: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68829&r=needscript Try newer version: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68829&r=oldversion Not developer issue: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68829&r=support Expected behavior: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68829&r=notwrong Not enough info: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68829&r=notenoughinfo Submitted twice: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68829&r=submittedtwice register_globals: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68829&r=globals PHP 4 support discontinued: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68829&r=php4 Daylight Savings: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68829&r=dst IIS Stability: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68829&r=isapi Install GNU Sed: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68829&r=gnused Floating point limitations: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68829&r=float No Zend Extensions: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68829&r=nozend MySQL Configuration Error: https://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=68829&r=mysqlcfg
