Edit report at https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=69919&edit=1 ID: 69919 Updated by: cmb@php.net Reported by: php-bugs at allenjb dot me dot uk Summary: php_check_syntax deprecation / removed notice should be more prominent Status: Open Type: Documentation Problem Package: Documentation problem PHP Version: Irrelevant Block user comment: N Private report: N New Comment: Well, the notice is not really about the deprecation, but rather about the removal of php_check_syntax() as of PHP 5.0.5. So any developer actually using this function is supposed to get informed about that rather soon (presumingly, nobody is developing with PHP 5.0.x anymore). I would rather suggest to make the version information (directly below the heading) more prominent for all functions. Previous Comments: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2015-06-24 10:20:02] php-bugs at allenjb dot me dot uk Description: ------------ The deprecation notice on this page is only a note box at the bottom of the main documentation, and as such is easy to miss. I would expect it to be a more prominent notice at the top of the page (similar to what's used for the ext/mysql functions). ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Edit this bug report at https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=69919&edit=1
