New Comment:
This bug has been fixed in the documentation's XML sources. Since the
online and downloadable versions of the documentation need some time
to get updated, we would like to ask you to be a bit patient.
Thank you for the report, and for helping us make our documentation
better.
It seems it's just current datetime (rfc822_date() fills the date with
current datetime formated by RFC 822).

Description:
------------
HI.
Referenceing :
http://us.php.net/imap_mailboxmsginfo
I have found hundreds of references to this function that simply
regurgitate the exact same info.. without really explaining it any
further.
What needs explained is : for the property of "date" it says : "date of
last change"
Ok... what change ? the last time you accessed the mail box ? when
you downloaded mail or deleted something ? when the most recent email
was received ?
Or.. is it in reference to any and all of the above changes ? will
any change update this ?
1) you have not checked email in 3 months, but got a new mail today,
what is the date you will get from this parameter ?
2) you have not received a new mail in 10 days, you checked mail 5
minutes ago. what is the date you will get from this parameter ?
3) does simply accessing the mailbox using IMAP_Open change this date ?
(if it does, then what is the point of this, how is it to be useful ?)
4) does simply logging in to your email account (accessing it with
username and password) change this date ?
there is a similar "bug" report, but it was never addressed or
clarified.:
http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=11153
as this is a request to change the documentation at :
http://us.php.net/imap_mailboxmsginfo , i am
submitting this as a new
incident.
I am trying to find a way to identify when a mailbox was last accessed
(trying to clear a server of hundreds of dead accounts). Will this
function tell me that, is there another function, or is there any other
tools already build that will tell me.
Our mail server is down right now doing a data move to a new server, so
wait about 20 hours then feel free to email me the comments.
